AFRICA/COTE D’IVOIRE - Appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Korhogo

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Armand Koné, until now delegate vicar of the archdiocese of Korhogo, Cote d’Ivoire, as metropolitan archbishop of the same see.

Msgr. Armand Koné was born on 29 July 1969 in Kouto, Cote d’Ivoire. After studying philosophy at the Grand Séminaire Saint Pierre de Daloa, he carried out his studies in theology at the Grand Séminaire National Saint Coeur de Marie d’Anyama.
He was ordained a priest on 11 October 2008.

He has held the following offices: vicar of the Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Korhogo (2008-2009); parish priest of Immaculée Conception, Guiembé (2009-2010); head of vocational pastoral care and chaplain of Animation Rurale, Korhogo (2009-2012); military chaplain (2009-2013); parish priest of Sainte Odile, Sinématiali (2010-2012); vicar general of Korhogo (2010-2013); parish priest of Saint Michel Archange, Dikodougou (2012-2013); parish priest of Chaource, diocese of Troyes, France (2014-2020), vicar forane of Bandama Urbain (2020-2022); parish priest of Notre Dame des Victoires, Korhogo (since 2020); vicar general of the metropolitan archdiocese of Korhogo (since 2022); and vicar delegate of Korhogo (since 2024).
